The river Acheron.
An area of outstanding natural beauty.
Acheron is known worldwide for its mythological contents. "The river of pain" was a stream and swampy lake of the underworld. The daimon charon ferried the souls of the dead across its dark waters in a skiff.
It's about 20 km from Loutsa in a beautiful surrounding with rich vegetation and crystalline waters. A magnificent location with white rocks reflecting in the blue-green water.

Amvrakikos gulf.
The largest wetland in Greece made up of lagoons, reed-bed forests and salt marshes. It's home to aquatic birds and very rich in fish and ells.
